Abstract: »The purpose of this study was to examine fictional movies regarding sex trafficking. We have analyzed the trafficking process, as well as the representation of traffickers and their victims. The results have been compared to former research to see how well it corresponds. The study was accomplished through thematic analysis. The films have been transcribed and coded. Those codes have been spaced into three themes which represent the results. Overall we saw that the victims were treated like goods while trapped in trafficking. The female victims were subordinated to the trafficker’s, which we were able to connect to radical feminist theory. This theory also elucidates trafficker’s way of manipulating and deceiving vulnerable women, partly by dint of their own characteristics. We have also analyzed trafficking methods through the routine activity theory and the crime pattern theory.« (Source: Thesis)
